Other Fillers (Bio-Alcamid)

A newer material now available is BIO-ALCAMID. This is designed for areas requiring significant augmentation such as facial hollows, cheek and chin augmentation and management of jowls.

Bio-alcamid is an injectable material comprised of 96% water and 4% synthetic polymer (poly-Alkyl-Imide). This blend guarantees softness to the touch with the implant having a similar consistency to the surrounding tissues.

How long does Bioalcamid last?

Bio-alcamid is a definitive implant and is permanent. Over years with further aging and sagging of tissues , more implant may be used to maintain natural youthful facial contours.

As with other fillers , this is an office procedure taking minutes. There is generally more swelling than with other fillers as larger amounts are usually injected.

After the initial injection, Dr Bartlett likes to see his patients two weeks later at which time the material may be molded further. A minor injection to further refine the results may be necessary 6 weeks after the initial injection. The results are permanent thereafter.
